Christmas

Come and sing the familiar carols, and savour the atmosphere, as you hear again of the events and meaning of the Real Christmas.

We have a Carol Service, a Crib Service on Christmas Eve, and we join with St Lawrence Church up the road for special services for Midnight and on Christmas Day.

You’re welcome to join us, whether you’ve been before or not.

Carols by Candlelight, 6.00pm Sunday 17th December

A traditional carol service, with Bible readings telling us of the Saviour’s birth, and the twinkling light of candles to help stir our hearts as we hear again of the coming of the worlds true light, Jesus. You can’t beat this service – but you can be there early to get a decent seat!

Crib Service, 4.00pm, Christmas Eve.

For families with smaller children (but everyone’s welcome!) – a great fun way to spend Christmas Eve afternoon, preparing for the great day.
Lasts about 50 minutes.

Midnight Communion, 11.15pm Christmas Eve

This year – at St Lawrence Church*
A peaceful but awe-inspiring service, as we remember together the real reason for Jesus’ birth: so that he could die in OUR place. We share bread and wine to proclaim to each other and the world that our living Lord Jesus is the Saviour, who loved us, and died for us.
Lasts about an hour

All-Age Christmas Celebration, 10.30am Christmas Day

This year we’ll be joining St Lawrence Church*
We’ll raise the roof with our praise and joy as we celebrate Jesus’ birthday together.
Children, you can bring a toy to show.
Make Christmas a real Christmas: come and join us to praise the Son of God, the best gift ever.
Lasts under an hour. Note it starts at 10:30am this year
If you’d like to share Communion, there is an optional extension to the main service, after a short delay.

You’re very welcome to come and join us, we look forward to seeing you.

* while we have no Vicar at St George’s, we’re a bit limited in what we can do this Christmas. Stick with us though – by God’s grace we’ll have a new vicar soon!
